He wouldn’t get in the word cup squad anyway if he went to Saudi and played really good. Think he’ll stay with us until January

Don't blame him for staying at all if he's got young kids and is happy here. Not everyone with a family would want to move them to Turkey or Saudi, for what would no doubt be another relatively short-term move. It isn't all about the player solely.

Chances of playing in the WC are minimal regardless.

The real question is do we release him or keep him for insurance.

Selling a player under contract is harder than it sounds, especially when that contract is so lucrative.

I don’t think City were turning down bids. He is just not as good as he thinks and refuses to take any of the options he’s been given.

I don’t think he’s not left because of finances. I believe he has a young family and probably felt better to keep them in school here rather than ship them off to Saudi and maybe somewhere else 6mths later. He had more than ample time to find a new club, he hasn’t shown any interest it seems.

Get a nice wage, show up to training and every weekend off to spend with your family. Don’t particularly blame him but I’d hope he would have a bit more ambition.
