Is anyone interested in sponsoring Stevie for this worthy cause. Stevie and some of his family and friends are playing 1,000 hole golf marathon in Spain, with all the proceeds going to Francis House Children's Hospice, Didsbury, Manchester. Go to http://www.stephenireland.com and click on the charity page and go to donate. enter the amount (no amount too small) and specify in the reference section 'Golf'

Everyone who donates will have their name displayed on the site and a chance to win 2 tickets in Stevie's executive box with players lounge tickets and a meeting with Stevie

Sorry, just getting info for you.

Stevie and 16 of his family and friends are playing. Stevie will tee off at 8am and they will play approx 3/4 rounds each, non stop until they reach 1,000 holes. They are looking to end about 9pm that night.

The golf club have been brilliant and have donated the course and buggies free, Ryan Air have helped with the flights and the accomodation people have also offered a big price reduction.

Stephen is 100% dedicated to the kids at Francis House who love him to bits and is hoping to raise about £10,000 he has already got one sponsor for the whole event but is hoping more firms will come on board

It would be fantastic if the fans got behind this event

He is doing a great job and I admire him for that. But, with that said, I find it a bit unconfortable to sponsor a premiership footballer playing golf in the costa del sol. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Does not matter what people do it's what they do it for that matters. I'm going to do it.

Thanks for the support, was struggling for a response to that one :) He really is doing it for all the right reasons and everyone at Francis House are extremely grateful, especially the families.

What does everyone else think about this? Isn't why is he doing it more important than where he is doing it?

Sponsor one of the other golfers then
