Cannot believe this. Ireland should be in contention for Both awards if that is possible (diddnt Torres do this last time?). He has been miles better than Giggs, he should have his place in the main award, but win young player. Ashley young has been good yeah. Scoring 5 and getting 6 assists from playing mainly in a similar position to Robinho, and taking all Villa's freekicks and corners. Ireland has scored 8 and got 9 assists in the prem. But he had played as a box to box central midfielder, he has been class getting back and making interception. Not a left forward like Young, staying up top but having Stevie play much better than him going forward.

Can we organise a Stevie Ireland day against Bolton then? To sort of say "Fuck what they think, we know your the best!".
We should all wear skullcaps, superman clothes, hold Ireland signs etc, really make a fuss of our favourite leprechaun.

I still think people are reading a bit too much into Ireland saying "Well if I don't win I'm not bothered" and the notion that a shortlisted candidate wasn't invited to the awards is utter and totla bollox but we'll know soon enough.
Even if Young has won it, I still know who I'd rather have in my team. And that's all that counts.
