Really? The newspaper said that he was issued with a section 35 notice, which supposedly has to be given in writing in advance.

My mistake, doesn't have to be in advance.

It was given in writing to him in person on the video (although he initially refused to accept it, not that has any bearing on it's significance or relevance in law).

Not sure I follow that logic.

In any event, if person x is asked not to attend a march in support of (whatever) because they do not actually support (whatever) then that seems reasonable given that person x is not attending in good faith, but more because he hates one group of people a bit more than the group he is ‘supporting’.

In any event, there is nothing to stop Robinson organising his own march to protest anti-semitism if he feels that strongly about it. I’m sure it will be well received when he proposes it at the next blackshirt rally.
