They're like the folk in America who fly the Confederate flag for 'heritage'.

(That is they fly a Confederate flag. There were multiple versions. The one usually waved is either a Confederate Naval Jack or a version of the battle flag. You never see the civil ones.)

We are in London this weekend and unfortunately my wife and daughter were at the Savoy Theatre today on the Strand which was right on the route of this March. Fortunately I knew it was on so we avoided that area in the morning and when I dropped them at the theatre they had moved on to Trafalgar Square.

I then went for a wander etc and headed back to the Strand area at about 4.30 and my god it was just absolutely embarrassing. Some of these lot draped in St George’s flags grouped outside a pub on the Strand singing “we want our country back” and “Rule Britannia” to anyone walking past, including a group of very young Japanese School kids who were obviously on a visit to London. It was just totally cringeworthy.
