Messi is a once in a lifetime but good answer although i wouldnt say he has got better last 5 years

SWP, the lad at Everton who played for Arsenal, Lennon, even going back to Lee Sharpe and David White - wingers don't tend to get better with age in my opinion. Especially not ones who rely on pace.
 
Gonna be honest, I’d prefer to have him than to not, but if his heart is set on a move Then all power to him.

I’d expect txiki and the gang already have replacement targets for everyone in a little drawer somewhere

I agree that often players who rely on pace can reach their peak earlier.
David White for example , had little apart from pace, and as his body shape changed he detiorated. He retained his ability to strike the ball well, this he was moved to a central role

Sterling is a physical freak, ask pep. I see him developing other parts of his game, though I do not think he will ever be a natural finisher. He is working on his non kicking good being closer to the ball when shooting, a must for all good strikers of the ball. His control, passing, movement, game awareness have improved drastically. I think he will be at the top level for another 7/8 years, despite the likes of Simon Jordan who clearly believes what the Sun write about him.

Agree with that mate. Hope he gets a pay rise and stays. But just hope his demands aren’t unreasonable which seems to be the case with club and agent seemingly far apart. I just don’t think he deserves parity with KDB, aguero etc. But he may not be asking for that and rumours could be bollocks.
 
His agent/representative,Aidy Ward is playing these games and leaking info to the media without Sterling's knowledge and approval.
A bit similar to Seluk and Yaya's situation(s).
2 and a half years into/18* months left on a contract and a player isn't sure he wants to be at a club..Only a massive pay rise in wages and wanting parity with a club's best player will 'convince' him to stay.

it's crap to blame agents. They are not married to the player, they are employed...Why do people not understand that.

Nice..so Yaya was behind Seluk all the time but Sterling isn't comfortable with what an agent,he has now had for a very long time,
has done/does/will continue to do?
I mean if he isn't happy with the way HIS representative does things,he could..i don't know..tell him to stop or rather change agents? He isn't a kid.
Easy for players to hide behind their agents but always maintain the most 'disliked' agents ie.Raiola,Seluk,Ward... will always act under their clients' instructions and do what their clients tell them to do so the clients are as much calpable as the agents.
Every game played by Ward,Raz is fully aware and in support of.

Was actually in support of what you said..First post was just an observation to the different reactions to the Sterling and Toure situations with their agents and the media and all that.Same scenarios but one was vilified by many while the other one,
many feel that it's the agent who is the poisonous one.
 
Do the club not have the wherewithal to establish if the alleged interest from Madrid is legit?
 
I,too, think this is his agent planting stories of interest, as they're trying to get top dollar on the contract extension. He can't possible want to leave this. He's in a really good environment right now.

If he thinks he can get £300k a week elsewhere, he’s off. He’s only missing an FA Cup domestically, if someone like arsenal would pay that, he can easily win that there. Maybe he’s not arsed about European success if he thinks his bank account can get even bigger?
