Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

Go on then, I'll bite. What have I said that you disagree with.

Are you claiming he wasn't fantastic last year? Because you won't get a lot of sympathy

Not wanting you to bite, but as I've said before,if anyone thinks Mahrez has come here to get splinters in his arse you are absolutely kidding yourself,he's a starter, and be in from the start (no WC and all that),only poor form will see him ousted, but he will hit the ground running, and for the record he's better than Sterling for me.

That's my response to it,no sympathy vote needed for me

That's exactly what people (maybe even you) said last season about Bernardo. Yet Sterling not only played regularly, he had his best season yet.

Seems a bit simplistic. Not all players are solely motivated by one thing. Money is a big factor in every bodies lives. I know a good chunk of players are on silly money, but short careers and the cut throat business of football, you can understand why there is a little part of all players to look at financially bettering themselves. Don't get me wrong, some take it to the nth degree, but most aren't as bad as they're made out to be, if you look at it rationally.

Most would look at dropping players, as soon as there legs go, Zaba being a prime example. Top guy, great player for us and ran through brick walls for us, I love the guy and always will, but as soon as his pace left him, we were looking at replacing him.
Do you think Zaba would even have ever turned up here if he didn’t get a better offer from somewhere else when we signed him?

I know a recently retired Prem player and a mate of mine used to play to a decent standard and he knows a couple of Prem players too and they’ve all said that players are not only obsessed with what they’re getting paid, they’re obsessed wit what everyone else is getting paid not just at their club but across loads of clubs. Players are constantly talking to their mates at other teams and to agents finding out what players across many teams are earning.

Sterling is most susceptible IMO,and while replace isn't the right word,he will be his alternative.

My favoured 11,as we stand

----------------Eddy---------------
Walker-Stones-Kompany-Mendy
--------------Dinho--------------
-------Silva-------KDB-------
Mahrez-----Aguero-----Sane
I think Laporte was ahead of Stones with Pep come the end of the season. Other than that I’d go for that

I don’t think that’s true. Bernardo was 22 and never played in this league when we signed him and it took him months to settle in.

Marhrez is 26 and not only played here and got experience here, he’s won the POTS and the league here.

Mahrez will take months to get used to Pep's style of play even if he's used to the competition.

I thought he'd already left judging by some fans predicted teams for next season...

Behind only Kevin, David and Ferna for consistent performances last year and with 23 (twenty-three!) Goals, he must be doing something right.

I like Mahrez, but he isn't replacing anyone - especially not Raheem.
I think his place as an automatic starter is now seriously threatened, which is good as competition will raise everyone's game.

Maybe and maybe he will take to it like a duck to water

There's a reason Xabi Alonso called playing under Guardiola "a Footballing MBA", and pretty much every player who's played under him has taken time to grasp the concepts and then spoken about how incredible the level of detail and specificity is. It will take Mahrez time to understand everything different that's being asked of him just like it took everyone else in our squad time to get used to it.

What's not true? People did say that Sterling would lose his place to Bernardo. And he did have his best season yet.

All of our attacking players will get plenty of opportunity, and one signing isn't going to take him from one of our best players to a bench warmer.

Totally different scenario here, and you know it,for the record I didn't say that last season,as I knew he would need time to settle in,but what a fucking player he is gonna be for us by the way,Mahrez comes with a lot more experience, and a title medal from this league, ready to go,one of the reasons we bought him,and wanted in January as well

Just keep denying, and we will see this coming season
