Cant really judge him as I havnt seen him play enough, but his goal scoring record isn't the best, about 1-3 games im hearing a lot of praise about his style of play and his work rate but what I think we need is a finsher someone who isn't afraid to smash it in we seemed to be afraid to shoot at times last year. As I said I havnt really watched him much is he the goal scorer we need?

That is why he would be the Tevez replacement. Goal scoring will fall to Aguero and Dzeko/Cavani.

I agree that we need one...but they don't seem to be out there. If Cavani doesn't come, I expect Dzeko will be our plan B. I don't buy it completely...but many think he can be clinical if we play to his strengths. I think it is a big mistake.

Jovetic though I would definitely take. He is not a fox in the box, but he is also not just an attacking mid. He is basically a like for like with Tevez. I know our greater need is clinical finishing, but we aren't getting that from Tevez anyway. I don't think these two issues need to be conflated.

Tevez was playing as a number 10 and he had 17 goals and 10 assists, IF Jovetic can get close to these numbers then he is welcome with open arms.

With Tevez 29 and Jovetic 23, one playing in England and for Argentina, the other in Italy and for Montenegro, how can anyone compare both???

Anyway, Jovetic is highly rated, but I'm not sure we're that interested. Unless City tried to wrongfoot the media. I think it's one of the targets from our former managementteam.

by the looks of this article he's off to juventus and 13 goals in 31 appearances for a 23 year old worth 30mil isn't that good to me. Balo is 22 we sold him for €20m plus bonuses and add-ons scored 12 in 13.

He would be most suited to that job, but he may just be one of several back up options we have enquired about in case we miss out on Isco.

Really surprised not to see more buzz about this guy. Natural successor to Tevez (needs to score more), isco alternative, young and we've supposedly got first refusal.

Juve wanted him but are now after Tevez, maybe there's a sort of agreement between the clubs?

Jovetic is so plan C - good player but really not great. Coaching report will say 'competent and capable' Probably closing the gap on Tevez as Tevez fades but he won't take us to a new level. No issues with signing him but won't get excited.
