Steve Daley

I was also at that game, I think my clothes have just about dried out now

Was also there, was only about 12 so was behind the goals in the mud ! Got in about an hour before KO. The train load of city fans had come in and just at the side where must of them where was bouncing up and down for quite some time with them all singing "who sat crying on the run way.

A brilliant after dinner speaker.
After one match he overheard his son asking his grandad what's a wanker grandad, the fans were singing it?
Your dad, he's a wanker!
Also said he saw his dad joining in the singing.

I was at both the Bolton away games, 2-2 and the 1-0 win. I remember an intense fight in the City end just before the match. I also have memories of the carnage back in Manchester after one of those matches, making our way from Victoria station to Piccadilly. Nited had been at home of course.
I was also at West Brom when Daley scored a cracking consolation goal in a 3-1 defeat immediately after Allison got sacked. Great times supporting City then just as they are now.

I know I’m one of only a few who liked Steve Daley. I watched he play most of his games for City. He arrived at City at the wrong time but my memories are he played better than most of his colleagues. Of course the media loved the thought of our £1.4m signing being a flop and that became the narrative. I saw it differently. Thanks Steve for the memories.

He was a very decent player , if we had paid 750k he would have been remembered as a good signing but we paid double, he tried to live up to the fee and simply could not.
