Since we can now rest everyone in the 2nd leg, he may refrain from making too many changes in this match. Perhaps Sagna and Clichy in for Zab and Kolarov/Otamendi, with everyone else the same? Maybe Navas in for someone.

...................Aguero...................
Nolito.....Silva........KDB......Sterling
......Clichy...Fernandinho...Sagna....
...........Ota/Kola.....Stones.............
.................Willy/Bravo...............

Aguero
Nolito Silva De Bruyne Sterling
Clichy Fernandinho Sagna
Otamendi Stones
Bravo
  • Clichy in for Kolarov to deal with Shaqiri's pace
  • Sagna in for Zaba
  • Bravo in (if signed)

Is that enough time for him to settle in? He will basically have one day to prepare for a competitive match at a new club. Think Willy will be in net.

I quiet think Bravo will be ready plus he's already match ready playing in the Super Copa vs. Sevilla last week and tomorrow. Plus he knows the system so he'll be ready to start. But that's my opinion. You can be right though...

Caballero
Sagna - Otamendi - Stones - Clichy
Fernandinho - Delph
Navas - Silva - Nolito
Aguero

Hart, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Fernando, Navas, Kelechi, De Bruyne

My guess:

Caba
Sagna - Otamendi - Stones - Kolarov
Fernandinho
Silva - de Bruyne
Sterling - Aguero - Nolito

Big test this one. Confidence should be high and work rate will be 200% more then we put in last season so no reason we shouldn't get a result. I'd only change Sagna from today's team.

Whatever happens it can't be any worse than that shambles last season where the came was effectively over after 15 mins.

Last night was a great warm up game.

Glad its away early in the season..Stoke are usually slow starters and were abysmal vs Boro..A relavitely comfortable win not necessarily a thumping.

This could be another slog like Sunderland. Moyes admitted he set up to stop us playing football and I'd expect the same from Hughes. Not that it matters after Liverpool won the title last week ;-)

Never been to Stoke before. Do most Blues walk from the Rail station?
