Stoke away compared with our rivals....

Before the game, I thought a draw would have been a decent result. What slightly irritates me is when people suggest it was a 'great' result. True, Stoke is a difficult place to go to, but having gained a lead in the 83rd min, it was poor we didn't win. I am not too bothered by it, at the end of the day, its not a bad point, whilst I view it as 2 dropped considering we were 1 up, it isn't the end of the world.

However, we need a little perspective; after so many had said how difficult a place the Brittania was to go, I thought I would remind myself how our rivals did:

Liverpool- lost 2-0
Villa- lost 2-1
United - won 2-1
Spurs- won 2-1

Before I get hounded out: I agree, it wasn't an awful result. I agree, Mancini needs time. I agree we are on target for top 4. AND I realise, football doesn't work like this, as although Spurs got a result here, we are above them, and have picked up results at places they haven't. I just thought to check these results out of interest. A point at Stoke is an OK result, nothing more, nothing less. What we need now is consistency, 1 good performance in 3/4 games isn't enough. A win at Stoke is achievable, and we have the players to achieve this. We just need to start doing this.

Conclude what you will from this post, and please don't take my words out of context, I can't be bothered for an argument over things I haven't said. Mancini in- point at Stoke is OK- more disappointing considering the circumstances- we are on the right track, but definate room for improvement, and we must play like West Brom/ Fulham more regularly, not once every 4 games.

Spurs were very lucky to win.

They were pegged back in their own half for most of the second half defending for their lives. Only a combination of shoddy finishing and poor officiating kept them in front. We even had an the ball about a foot over the line that the ref somehow didn't notice, despite being about 7 yards away with a clear view of it.

I agree with you...I wasn't too impressed with Richards informing MOTD that the players didn't like the cold and weren't up for it, not the correct mentality for a team looking to win 'something' be it the game, a place in the top 4 or whatever...I would also begin to fine players that give soundbites to the media...sick of all this gung ho shit in the press followed by capitulation on the field...

The press are a joke, there is a genuine anti-city theme, I am certain!
 
We also played them when they are putting a decent run together i think they had won their last three on the spin,and the scum should have been down to ten men before half time.
Yaya was a big loss yesterday and i think he would of made a difference as milner was poor,thats been the problem all season bobby has not been able to put the same side out for a long run of games.

Eh !!? The rags won in the last minute and should have been down to 10 men, so we were a minute away from winning and the rags were a minute away from drawing.
 
Im sure Spurs were gifted the win at Stoke. Stoke had the ball over the line and the goal wasn't given if I recall.

All fair points. Whilst Yaya was a loss, I don't think we can blame this too much, considering he's been particularly average most of the season, and we have spent a huge amount on a squad. I take your points though, especially that they were puttin together a good run...!
