Stoke did not play well we just played at a snails pace and their big lumps just kicked our players and pulled shirts on the blind side and feigned injury. As said on the match thread - that stoke performance will be classed as a defensive masterclass and that is exactly what's wrong with English football.

Spot on... people need to stop paying lip service to it(the old favourite they wheel out is "There's two sides to the game you know... defending as well as attacking") because nobody could have really enjoyed that game tonight as football match on it's own merit.

Terrible result. Bad all night in the final third. Aguero had little or nothing to go at. Silva should of scored he was unlucky as was Iheanacho at the end. I think KDB should be rested been poor on our run in the last few games for me. Even simple balls he was missing up taking the wrong option. Stoke didnt do a lot in that second half we were poor and Pep will know after that his subs aint great at the moment. I just think this will hopefully blip of the draw wont affect us and we keep this unbeaten run going with more wins but 1 shot on goal all night says it all. Non creative all night and bad shooting.

I've never despised a player in the way I hate that prick.

I can accept a lack of talent in a player when they try hard. But that useless prick always takes the easy option. I've never seen a player pass backwards more than him. And it's embarrassing the way he is incapable of crossing the ball.

I've seen players such as Kolarov and Dzeko who have played a much bigger role in our success than Clichy get dogs abuse of fans.

I'm not even angry at Stoke. They did exactly what mid table Prem teams do...which is exactly why the Prem is so difficult to win. We still haven't got the ability to grind out scrappy wins on off days and we're not clinical enough when rare chances come - Silva being a huge culprit.

Having said that, De Bruyne was dreadful, Fernandinho was embarrassing (We did well enough when he was off getting suspended, why we keep shoehorning him in I've no idea), Navas was EXACTLY AS WE ALL EXPECTED- so why the fuck was he playing? Iheanacho didn't get long enough (as always), Clichy was abysmal. Aguero worked hard but not smart, Touré tried desperately to hold an awful midfield together but was too limited going forwards.

Silva was by far our best player- so why wasn't he playing? Not starting your best is exactly what the world mocked Wenger for on Tuesday night. Kolarov also did well to keep a clean sheet almost single-handedly. Our 'awful defence' is a media-perpetrated myth. Our attack was absolutely typical of our home form this season.

I can't believe we bottled that.

Both full backs were terrible. Sagna might be able to defend but when they pass him the ball he ALWAYS looks for a pass backwards. And Clichy couldn't cross the road let alone a football. So many chances for the overlap wasted.

people say he is the replacement for silva...for me he has a long way to go regarding how to control and run again....he often goes missing when silva isn't playing.

That's such a ridiculously unfair comment.

1. You don't think any team parks the bus against City? Just watch Boro at the weekend.
2. We had our most creative and dangerous players on, like Sane, KDB, Aguero and latterly Silva. They all were off.
3. That we can't handle parked buses is something that needs to be addressed in the transfer window, though I do feel Jesus would have made the difference today.

Good post, this all combined with what seemed like a lack of gas in the tank, made for a non starter really.

Not starting sterling was baffling though, given sane started...which kind of makes a mockery of resting only only sterling.

City should have gone full strength at home where defensive play is far more likely, and played a weakened team at the weekend.

Hugely frustrating.

Some big players didn't deliver when they needed to, KDB and Aguero, in particular. You do wonder if there is a mental issue at times against parked buses. Whole team lacked intensity.

Thought we might have had a penalty for a foul on Nacho when he missed his chance.
