Stoke post match

Still don't get the booing bit. It wasn't even as if it was a few of them, it must have been a good couple of thousand. As someone alluded to earlier, I'm guessing they're just red top readers and believe all the stuff about him that they print.
Neither do I mate. What's ever even been said in the media about him worth booing anyway? NOWT!

They're just idiots.

I said in the Sterling thread last week about when we played Hull away just after the John Terry-Wayne Bridge story broke and the Hull fans were booing Wayne Bridge! I mean what the fuck? Talk about thick cunts or what?!

Ask any of them and they wouldn't have an answer for why they're booing him. The only thing I can think of is that they've all been Liverpool fans over the decades Stoke were out of the top league and they all never went to watch Stoke.

The pundits reckon the score line flattered us. Quinn and Souness said we gave the ball away cheaply. However, 4-1 at Stoke while not being at your best ain't bad. Also, and the media aren't making enough of this, we have Sane and Gundogan to come in, and probably a new keeper........and possibly Kompany!

So we win 4-1 and are poor. Did they say that Stoke lost 4-1 and were better?

Still somewhat dumbfounded as to how they can class that Sterling thing as "pulling his shirt"? Not moaning about the penalty as they should've had one in the first half for Aleks' foul just before half time...

Solid performance though and onto Wednesday, hopefully an easy ride into the group stage with a couple of youngsters given a chance to shine.

Good to see Maffeo on the bench today in Sagna's absence - it's no less than he deserves!

I just wanted to add that in what I personally thought was an excellent performance by the team, Fernandinho shone again. He may not get the same plaudits as goalscorers & new players performing well, but he is a colossus in the engine room of the team. His role has perhaps changed more than most this season but he's playing as though he's played there all his life. Another great game today.

Racists? Never met a Stokey that wasn't.

Who for? Not watching it.

Leicester & it's happened more than once. Just now Clattenburg has let off an Arsenal player for a blatant 2nd yellow. So we have two senior refs picking & choosing which rules they apply 'to the letter' & when.

You can guarantee that Clattenburg will suddely start reffing to the letter at the moment it suits him. Just have to hope we are on the right side when it happens.

(Plus he looks like he spent the night Charlied out of his brains & had an hours kip in his car).

One of the highlights was at the final whistle there was no mass exodus of the fans. The players got a standing ovation and 99% of the fans stayed until the last of the players exited down the tunnel.

I have a feeling we will have one of those days this season when everything we try will come off and we smash double figures past someone, maybe not in the PL but someone is gonna get a footballing lesson when we finally click.

How many times at 2-0 and 2-1 did one of our players have the opportunity to get a shot off,and didn't.
Aguero,Navas,KDB and especially Silva all had decent opportunities but chose a stupid pass rather than letting leash.
I know the result ended fine, but fuck me....SHOOOOOOT!
On another note, was sat row 2 and could hear Stones yelling some orders and players taking note...I LIKE.

We were better than Quinn gave us credit for that's for sure. It was the first 25 minutes of the second half where we struggled but over the course of the 90 we deserved to win. Anybody saying different is indeed a ****. :-)

I can agree with that. I did think he was a bit reserved in his praise. Funnily enough I would have taken more umbrage with Souness. He waxed lyrical, with regards Joe Allen, about goalscoring is the most difficult thing in football but did not give us much credit for the four we scored away from home.

Never really understood the vitriol against Quinn on hear until now. What an utter biased Sky Rag ****.
How did that result "flatter City".
We outplayed Stoke first half, and gradually wore down their comeback in the 2nd half and then were able to bring on two world class subs to score off the bench to utterly crush them as they capitulated in the last few minutes.
Fukkin furious about Quinns comments!

Just turn the shit off at the final whistle, mate. You know what you saw and don't need some third rate commentator to tell you different.
