Yea I know that but he seems to be injured a lot then finds it hard to get back in. But when he does get his chance he doesn’t take itIt's hard to play well when they get back from injurt and are not sharp
The tragedy here is it was a perfectly avoidable situation.
The club had ample time to buy a new centre back in the summer but were to stubborn to do so.
Now we are shoe horning midfielders into other positions which is never ideal.
Going off the abysmal showing on Saturday against Norwich 2nd team I fear for us this season a little. A constantly changing back line is never good.
It's also a complete mystery as to how over the past 2 seasons we are getting so many more injuries than Liverpool.
Bad luck or over training on our part?
Is it just possible, that there was a valid reason , rather than just being stubborn obviously, why we did not move to buy a new CB ?
Perfectly avoidable always supposing that there been a player on the market, for a price we were willing to pay , with the credentials and ability within the aforesaid price bracket , that the management felt would be suitable for the team ?
Who do you suggest we should have moved for ?
We have 3 centre halves who can also play right back (Stones, Otamendi & Garcia). Fernandinho is also right footed but can help out on either flank. When defending Ottamendi can't play left back with Zincheko (tried before and discontinued early after Mendy's first injury). So moving Otamendi to right CH seems the obvious choice if Stones is injured. Why?
I would have like Maguire but I understand their were FFP restraints.
Maybe one of the 2 from Spurs.
We've messed up.
