... From taking a bottle of Fanta into the stadium. Unopened. Was told is was a new rule. Anyone know why?

Fizzy drinks are bad for you and might make you high. You might invade the pitch naked and wee in the goal mouth. Just down 10 pints of stella in the pub before hand like everyone else.

Does seem a bit silly and ott though. Guess its in case you throw it on the pitch or at away fans.

A bottle of pop is seen as a potential weapon or missile!
If you take the top off and drink some then put the top in your pocket it should be ok. Put the top back on once you're inside.

And Fanta orange deserves to be poured down the drain anyway.
Fanta lemon is the way to go.
I sense a potential BvsM thread.

It's a B.

I am old enough to remember the 1980s when Derby fans would throw glass bottles at you and the police would just stand and watch.

The official reason will probably be because it's unopened, when you buy them inside they take the lids off and have for a while, presumably so it can't be used as a missile.
