Stopped from taking plastic bottle into the stadium

I am old enough to remember the 1980s when Derby fans would throw glass bottles at you and the police would just stand and watch.

Ha, them filthy pigs haven't changed much in 40 years have they. Or the Derby fans.

Too many rules and regs at the footy these days, it's a shit match day experience other than our amazing team.

I thought bottles were not allowed a long time ago. They dont sell bottles inside anymore either, all fizzy drinks are via paper cups.

Over zealous wand waver at the gate no doubt - my Dad who is nearly 80 was asked to unzip jacket. Ridiculous the lengths they go to on the gate sometimes without using any common sense.

... From taking a bottle of Fanta into the stadium. Unopened. Was told is was a new rule. Anyone know why?
Been doing this for a while at M1. Insist on taking your bottle top off you but you can take your drink in as long as the top goes in the bin first.

I assume they think a closed bottle makes for a great missile, as they also take the top off any drinks they sell to you inside or pour them into a paper cup.
