Concorde has been and gone too!

It's still there - G-BOAC (formerly the flagship of the fleet), nice and safe in it's own little house.
One of my nephews had his wedding ceremony onboard. When I was asked if I was coming, I said "only if I can have a window seat!"
After the service, I was then invited onto the flight deck by one of the tour guides and allowed to sit in the captain's seat, but the bastards had hidden the ignition key, and there was no fuel on board.

even I know that means you can't fly it - and my experience is limited to Airfix models around 45 years ago

I got to have a mooch onboard Concord one afternoon when it was visiting Manchester airport in the early 80's (my dad worked at the airport). Such a beautiful piece of engineering.

Concorde - the French wouldn't agree to the joint project unless it was spelled the French way with an 'e'. Very French of them.

If it weren't for that crap on the French runway, she might have had a much longer service life.

Who knows Eunice may even reach storm force winds? ! Lol. If it does it will be the first in England since the Met Office starting naming gales and severe gales as storms for dramatic effect and dumbing down our weather.

Still these weather warnings and named 'storms' give all the Local Authorities a better excuse to close everything in anticipation of the impending doomsday scenario. Back in the day we used to call it winter and just got on with it.

Could have even been on the same aircraft at the same time. That was around the first time I ever flew on an aircraft. A BA positioning flight from Manchester to Glasgow on a BAC 1-11 (G-AVMN) Can't believe I still remember the tail number.

I used to have a Flight Simulator programme on my computer and a "force feedback" joystick, and it had an Air France Concorde as one of the planes.
I took it out from CDG and did a couple of circuits,including a "touch and run" before landing it safely. A piece of piss!
