strange things we did when we were kids

I couldn't watch the television unless I was watching it upside down with my legs over the back of the chair/sofa.

ha ha I was droning on about milestones in growing up the other day, and this was one of them - I can't for the life of me remember when I stopped doing that on the couch :)

Now of course it's a physical impossibility.

Playing a full rematch off Holland v Poland on my own in the back garden, crowd noise and everything, full 90 mins. i played fantastic.

Used to fuck about on train tracks and any roof we could get on top of, car dodging. lucky making it past 13 when i look back.

Couldn't agree more I used to travel the Manchester to Bury line, pre metrolink on the roof of the old trains. Total madness when I think about it now.

Starting Fires regularly, lol....

Would nip into the local Pakistani shop and say I was buying 10p box of Matches for my Mother.

Big grass fires and we'd run away to watch the Fire Engines coming.

Fireman Sam has a lot to answer for, Haha....

Sitting at mates houses, big gangs of lads having "bucket sessions" basically bucket, filled with water, empty bottle and you'd fill it with weed smoke.

How the parents never knew what we where upto.

Many of the kids I would hang around with have died now, either prolonged drug misuse, suicide or some are still at it except they prefer the heavier drugs these days.

All of this lol. Used to love lighting fires, old houses, piles of rubbish, peoples garden hedges... That was 'tight'. Nicking the sand bags out of traffic cones too, used to rip holes in them and just pour sand out everywhere. I have no idea why. I remember my mates little brother used to love frosty weather, he'd boil kettle after kettle to pour outside and watch from the bedroom window for ages as folk went arse over tit on the patches of ice he had created.

We used to climb everything. Trees, School roofs, Building sites, Window cleaners ladders but you could only use one hand !

Now I am frightened to go out in the snow in case I fall and hurt my hip.

Why did he use boiling water? Why not just make the ice with cold water?
