My two daughters absolutely love this, they're desperate for Rose to win tonight's final. Me not so much, I glance up occasionally to see if Claudia Winkleman has managed to put her eye makeup on the right way up this week, never does, or if there's a song I like. But my girls love it, highlight of their week, hot chocolate and strictly before bed is almost Santa level for ensuring good behavior.
As much as I may think the show is padded with 'dimwit' bait as I sometimes call it (I mean, taking such long pauses between announcing results is just needless but I just am thankful everyone has shut their gobs for five minutes), its undeniably inspired both of them to learn / relearn sign language basics, which is incredible for a child as young as 5 to feel inspired to want to do.
It's probably one of 4 BBC shows we watch, saves the license fee, just, in our household.
