For me this is the position that we need to desperately fill....

I know we signed bellamy but he is not an out and out striker.....more of an attacking player that can play in various positions and runs a lot....he has himslef sad that he cannt play the lone striker role and that showed in the stoke performance (not a criticism as he worked hard)......where he offered very little threat on goal (neither did anyone).......

we didnt have a recognised centre forward on the pitch till caceido came on...just 4 attackin players who play outwide and drigt around.......in short we had no focal point.....a drogba, torres, adriano, ......

the players interchanging is a great tactic (utd do it well) but you need that focal point as well

so having said all that.....

we know we are in for RSC.....who would not be my first choice but there you go.......However if this doesnt come off has the club got a plan B....(or is RSC plan B and we have a Plan A and are keping it very quiet...think this is clutching at straws however)

we will contine to struggle against teams like stoke who play 10 men behind the ball if this does not happen.

so what are peoples thoughts?...will we get RSC, will we get someone else or will we still have to put up with the fat that 4 years after anelka left we STILL dont have a decent centre forward!!!!!!!!!????????????????

i dont think we need to buy one unless its a big name i.e villa or torres because we have caicedo and we also have bojinov coming back, rsc is well overrated and will be no better than the bojinator

We're all clutching at straws at this stage, I suppose.

But my own theory on this is that we were obviously very close to signng Kaka (with apologies for bringing that up again). And it seems inconcievable that he'd have been signed in order to thread balls through to any of our current strikers (bit unfair to Sturridge, Phil and Boj).

So they must have always had someone else up their sleeves.

Not long to wait 'till we find out now...

This is just an opinion and maybe other people will disagree but if we had RSC or Drogba up front yesterday for the whole game, (Sorry big Phil ain't up to it ) we would have won. I believe MH knows RSC inside out and I think he will improve our team no end. (Puts on tin hat, crawls under desk awaiting avalanche of abuse)

again, i dont think we need another striker just yet, we need to play different formations for home and away
HOME : given/hart
Richards Kompany Onohoua(spelling) Bridge
Ireland zabaleta
Elano Robinho Bellamy SWP

AWAY: Given/hart
Richards Kompany Onohoua(spelling) bridge
Elano Ireland Zabaleta De jong
Caicedo Bellamy

My thoughts are thta I completely agree. I think we will sign Santa Cruz. Fat Sam has just waiting for deadline day so that he can get as much as possible for him, which is fair play - he is Blackburn's manager afterall.

I think we need a CB aswell tho.

caceido has a long way to go before he can play that role and so we cannt rely on him

boj.....looks a fantastic player but.....he isnt an out and out striker i dont think....though i could be wrong i think he plays a lot like bellamy

If RSC is the only option on the table for £20 million I say no.
