I feel a bit sorry for the lad. His employers want to send out a message that they won't bow to criticism of referees, but their insistance on backing him instead of removing him from the spotlight is going to ruin his career. He's on the verge of losing all credibility and his reputation is shot. Take the lad out of the firing line now, and maybe bring him back in a few years when he's had some blunder free games behind him at a lower level.
