Channon fails to grasp that it was not City – or even Chelsea – who laid down the ground rules for the Premier League, which was born from greed and designed to make rich, successful clubs even richer and even more successful.

Although it is a decent article, it has conspicuously failed to grasp the most salient point that connects the above second and third paragraphs in this extract of that article. One is concomitant of the other. It was precisely because of the commercial landscape that united, Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham and Arsenal forged that Mansour and Abramovich wanted a piece of the pie. Those clubs, with their naked greed, created the landscape that sees City and Chelsea sat at the very top table.

They only have themselves to blame for having to cast an upwards glance in our direction.

Well done Stuart praise where its due.

On Channon I'm old enough to remember him playing and for the most part he wasn't arsed and it showed.

I also remember him slagging off Edghill who was down with a head injury in a sky game at Soton. The footage showed he was clobbered in the head however, our Mick decided he was pulling a fast one as he was treated and continued the theme as he semi collapsed and puked.
