erm he's not been prosecuted yet!
He's been charged with 15 separate sexual offences against 11 different people over 20yrs aged between 9 and 16.

General (genuine) question... is there a difference between being charged with as offence as opposed to being prosecuted for an offence??

charged is charged
proecution is the case (in court)
guilty or not guilty (the result)

He was originally just arrested and questioned. The CPS must feel there is at least a 75% chance of conviction if he is to be charged.

Im not aware there is a a figure put on it, as how do you quantify that? As far as Im aware the criteria are is there a realistic prospect of a conviction, and is it in the public interest

The thing is he was a likeable bloke as he frolicked about on 'It's the Knockout'. It was great entertainment as i sat there as a kid watching teams from Europe water cannon each other, and watching them slipping and sliding about on a bungee cord whilst someone was trying to clobber them with a big rubber hammer.

I feel cheated now that i liked and looked upto the likes of him Garry Glitter and Jimmy Sadvile. Nonce Bastards.

I am not and wouldn't begin to start defending anyone who was involved in such offences against women and children- but in today's climate if you are charged with such an offence such a long time ago it must be hard to defend yourself.

For example if yo were someone like Jim Davidson and had a well developed 14/15 year old lass throw herself at you and let you believe she is sixteen what can you do? You would not remember every single liaison you had that long ago... would you?

very difficult situation. if they are/were clearly childern or it was a forced sex accusation that is different, nonetheless it is still difficult to deny it and prove that anuthing never happened.

there isnt a fig on it cps look to see if its within public intrest to prosecute along with a likely success or fail, many cases get droped in court afer cps aproval

Of all the solicitors I've spoken to, they use this as a general guideline. It's also in the public interest for them not to persue high profile, expensive 50/50 cases.

If that's true you'd think the CPS would have sussed this as a way to get the conviction stats up - ie round-up all the Lenny Landings, Kevin Kitcheners, Freddy Stairs. etc and get them banged-up?

Looks like his number's up now ...... he could get a long stretch for all those alleged offences , if found guilty ...... and at his age that will, almost certainly , be his lot.

I'm very surprised by this , you would never have suspected someone like Stuart Hall of possibly being involved in anything such as this , he's always been such a jovial character .... but it now looks ominous for him , and that a jury will decide his fate .
I don't think he'll make it to the trial. If his brief tells him the evidence is overwhelming and advises him to plead guilty and makes a plea for leniency due to his age etc, he could still be looking at 10 years. He'll probably just top himself.

Can somebody please explain, if his first arrest was at the beginning of December, how come his name was still on the new years honours list ?,(OBE) surely it could have been removed.

i spotted the creep groping a woman on a xmas show special...or something(everyone dressed as royals from the middle ages ???),it was years back. always hated him after that.

police should confiscate all bbc programme s and screen them for cronies of this vile piece of $hit.
