Student tickets for COMS

I will write to the club and just say that basically, they are alienating MCFC fans who are students at other unis and colleges by practically giving away tickets to Manchester Uni students who are, let's face it, probably not even interested in the club.

It would be much better to have tickets that were say 30% discounted for all students on production of a valid student photo ID (college or university). That way the club aren't always aimlessly throwing away about a few hundred tickets to Manchester Uni regardless of the interest in the game. For example, do you reckon that the manchester uni students will be taking up their full allocation of West Brom or Bolton tickets? Doubt it. I've spoken to a few people there and they've all told me the same thing. People que up to get tickets to the big games, Rags, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. At the end of the day these students are like tourists there to see the big 4 and take pictures. Fair enough, but they are keeping REAL blues out of the stadium by taking up seats.

If the club go with my idea then there isn't a SET allocation of student tickets like there are currently (for just ONE uni!!) and it is a much fairer policy. Also if the club are under some sort of false pretence that they think they are "winning" a new generation of City fans at Manchester Uni (notice how Man Met and Salford aren't included in the discount!!) the good thing about my plan is that Manchester Uni students are still entitled to the NEW student discount just like everybody else.

I'll get the letter sent out first class to Cookie in the morning :)!

good stuff.

I go to MMU and i find this immensely unfair

but the final straw for me was when, 4 days before the derby at COMS, i Saw a manchester uni student selling tickets for 80 quid each.....i asked him whether he worked for the uni but he said he'd bought them and was selling them to make a profit.......................I could have smacked him..........

i'd agree with this! i'm a student at man uni - but still want my season ticket as don't want to gamble on missing games etc. because there are massive queues for the derby! bit annoying as i won't get u21 this year - yet have two more years left!

Seems a bit ridiculous to me ....... would the club let a City supporting OAP from Manchester in cheaply , but not one who lives in Blackpool?

Surely if you are a student it shouldn't matter where you come from , or where you're studying ....... if you have a student card you should get the club discounts , full stop!

cheers mate, let me know the response you get, if you could PM me or somthing that would be great, thanks again

im at mmu and cant get them, so i get a mate to get them for me when i do go to matches with a student ticket.

dont like where you're sat though, students annoy the piss out of me even if i am one, a lot of them are there for the away team instead too, mainly rags/scouse/arse/chelsea/everton/villa. when villa played the block they put the students in was full of chinese villa fans taking pictures, not a peep from them all match even for their own team.

still, a ticket is a ticket.
