Sturridge? Evans? Or Caicedo?

Caicedo has all the attributes to be a great player just needs to be more alert - Sturridge can obvioulsy play but his own press and attitude will hinder him unless he can channel it positively like Ian Wright did. Ched, well not sure if it`s Championship Ched or Conference Ched.

if anyone thinks big Phil will be anywhere near our first team next year then i suggest they take their heads for a wobble....

whoever is in charge of us next year will have purchased 2, if not 3, new strikers during the summer light years ahead of Phil.

The question was 'Who is our best back up/reserve striker?'

That's where I see Big Phil's place being after the summer if he is still with us. Where he'd be now if Bellamy/ Boj/ Benjani/ Vass were fit/good enough........

my reply was more in line with people saying "he is learning etc", i personally quite like Big Phil however people need to sort their expectations out if they see a future at City for him after this season.

Expectations are exactly was is wrong with our support at the moment, we build people like ched and studge up to be world beaters at quite a young age and when they dont deliver straight away they get stick, unlike studge, ched has not shown any immaturity in the newspapers (contract signing etc..) whereas bid phil came here with quite a large price tag for his age and i believe he has shown in glimpses that he will be a good target man and he knows where the net is, time is what these players need not over exaggerated expectations, get behind all three for the next 5 games and give them a whole summer to do a superman!!

Sturridge is far better but he's not much of a lone striker, so I think Caicedo is the right choice to play because he has the right physical attributes for it

Caicedo reminds me of a player I used to play with a few years ago for my local team, I used to play well and then they'd bring this shit player on for the last 10 mins of every game to give everyone a game, and he would do fuck all and then score. I know it's only sunday league but that's exactly what Caicedo does, Sturridge and even Evans have played better yet Caicedo will do fuck all and just score a goal.

So if you want a striker to link up with other players, hold the ball up, offer more, work harder and then chip in with the odd goal and a few assists I'd choose Sturridge or Evans.

If you want a striker to do fuck all all game and then just score the odd goal i'd choose Caicedo.

To be fair I don't think any of them will be at city next season. I also think Benji will go as well and Jo will be loaned out again. Vassell will go with my blessing (a true pro). Strikers remaining will be Robbie, Bellamy and Boj. I believe MH will sign one if not two strikers (both first line strikers e.g RSC someone who can jump head a ball, control it and has a bit of ace (Inside Info suggests that a fee has been agreed today in the sum of 18m and will arrive in summer)

Caicedo reminds me of Heskey, apart from the fact he knows how to shoot/score.

He needs some solid games on loan, preferably Championship, and learn how to throw his weight around a bit more. I think there's a lot of potential there I don't see in Evans and with more experience we could have an Adebayor or even Drogba (I can dream). If he gets to even 70-80% of their ability I'd be happy to have him as a targetman with someone like Robbie or Boj playing off him but he's still got to prove he can do it consistently.

Imo Sturridge is the best 3rd striker because you want to bring on someone who is (reasonably) quick and can exploit opportunities made by tired defenders.

Hope we keep sturridge, i think he looks like a future top class player. Not sure either evans or phil would get near next years team.
