He's on less money at Chelsea than City offered him so the reason for his move wasn't financially motivated, as for any other reason for leaving he has clearly been badly advised by the army of sycophants and hangers on that he carries with him. I had the misfortune to be in their company at a Youth Cup tie and believe me they are a sight to behold in full flow, the make Anelka's brothers look like paragons of discretion and moderation in comparison.

Agreed - do you know whether tribunals can award sell on fees, though? I've never heard of that happening, but it may just be my ignorance.
I hope Sturridge succeeds, but if he does it'll always be tinged with regret that we couldn't hold on to him.

i know some money will get to city in the end but no where near the amount if there as a fee involved

he's not the first player to leave us for wanting first team football.... a certain tony coton left to go to salford utd for first team footy (like he even had the talent to take schmeichels place!!)
you'd think someone would realise they cant leave us go to one of the old big four and get into their teams...its just logic!
