This is the thing about pre season friendlies. We win and play well we're gonna win the league. We play terrible and get beat we are gonna struggle for top 4. The only difference I can see on the pitch today is ATTITUDE! Stuttgart are treating like a proper game and we aren't. Simple as that.

Doesn't excuse the fact that that was a poor first half at any level. Friendly or not.

Looks like last season the manager doesn't think defensive midfield is important and Kompany still has no discipline and until those changed we will win nothing. IMHO Pelegrini will be under pressure after only 5 games and will be favourite for first sacking

Same old story, happened plenty of times last season. Need to up the tempo and move the ball quicker.

It's just a friendly so I'm not going to go in to flap mode. That being said I've forgotten just how bad defensively we can be under Pellegrini, that was just route one stuff and we looked comically shaky. No idea what Kompany was doing that half. Midfield no cover and Nasri is as pedestrian as can be. West Brom are just going to sling it up so we will need a 500% improvement on this performance. What's really got my goat up is that Khaldoon promised several world class signings yet the season starts in 1 week and we have only one. Would have been better if he kept his mouth shut.
