Feel bad having a rant at a time when everything seems so rosy but something has really wound me up.

It got mentioned briefly on the thread about standing up but i think it deserves more attention.

If they have decided to make the subs warm up down the other end of the pitch just so it doesn't give the fans a chance to stand up I think its absolutely ridiculous. I'm not going to slag off the fans down that end but they don't make anywhere near as much noise as the south stand and i think it gives the players a massive boost when they come and warm up towards the south stand. I might have missed it on Monday but I didnt even realise Aguero had started warming up, he would have got a huge reception down the other end.

The best example I can think of is Adam Johnson last season against Newcastle, we gave him such a big boost whilst he was warming up, constantly singing his name until Mancini gave him the nod and he came on and scored. He mentioned the fans and how much of a boost it had given him in the interview after the game.

I know the club has got to do a lot to make sure fans dont stand but I think this genuinely has an effect on the team. I know its minor but i still think its worth mentioning and trying to get sorted!

Seems a bit paranoid to me

Would it not be just a sensible policy to switch the warm up ends around - give more fans chance to see the players close and show some appreciation

Why should it always be in front of the same fans?

On the other hand, it might wake that side of the stadium up and create a better atmosphere for them to come on to. South stand don't need a sub warming up to make a bit of noise. Can't see it being to do with standing anyway.

I sit "down the other end" in 132 and thought it strange the subs were warming up infront of us.

I was always under the impression they had to warm up behind the linesman on that side, so as not to cause confusion to the linemsan on the other side for offsides etc...even with bibs on (if Mario manages it!)...

Not too far off this subject - why do with (almost) always kick the same way in the 1st half? Is there some kind of pre-toss agreement? Everton have made us change round at least once, but I can't think of many other times...

The reason is to stop them warming up near the assistant on that side, nothing to do with standing.

Subs always had to warm up behind the lino (and max 3 per team at any one time I think) to stay out of line of sight of the lino but it looks like this has changed probably due to getting loads of grief from subs warming up behind them.

I think t was purely for the fatc that Swansea warmed up down that end. So when Aguero and co got up to Warm up they followed. I dont really think they have been forced to warm up down that end. Should be backto normal next home game when Aguero is starting. ;)

then why didn't they do it last season when the assistant was down that side? I agree with the OP on this one. Why suddenly change to the other side? I guess it could be that they have now put an advertising board behind the camera man which does not leave the players anywhere to go except either in front of the camera, thereby obscuring the view, or on the 'running track'. Move the advertising boards and let us have our players back!! :-)

I agree that switching ends is a good idea but was miffed when this was happening on Monday, Ive not seen or heard a decent explanation for it.
