Suella Braverman - sacked as Home Secretary (p394)

When Gary Lineker said that the Tory’s immigration policy was like 1930s Germany, and this vile specimen tried to take him to task about it. He was right wasn’t he?
He actually said that the language used was similar to that used in Germany in the 1930s, rather than saying the policy was the same. He was absolutely right of course and when you listen to some of Braverman’s rhetoric, what Lineker said shouldn’t even be controversial. Unfortunately it was widely reported as him comparing policies which he never did.

I think it’s just her brief to go the anti migrant angle to appease the gammon voters to stay with Tories.
It became very apparent she was a vile **** long before that back when she was made Attorney General to provide cover for Johnson’s government’s deliberate law breaking. It must have been the only reason she was appointed because her legal experience was less than mediocre.

Perceptive and well-written profile of this vile politician (basically argues that she is a shallow populist and very much a product of the fissiparous times we live in):

Also interesting that this statement about Braverman has been issued by the Triratna community. Just over a year ago, when I went to the London Buddhist Centre, they seemed highly embarrassed to be associated with her.

Having said that, their dodgy founder was, like Braverman, opposed to the '-isms' of political correctness and eschewed universal conceptions of human rights. Impossible to show that any of this rubbed off on her, though.

Finally, on the 'multiculturalism has failed' thing, there's this:

At one point in her bizarre rant, she quotes Angela Merkel to support her view.
The rest of her nonsense could have been a quote from, and was certainly in the spirit of, a rather different German chancellor from the 1930s.

So basically she became known to them as a semi-regular 10 years ago and hasn't done much more?
Seems extraordinary that they felt obliged to have put this out.
