Have them put on a coat and go exploring. They can then see the difference between sun and rain.

It's a site with some games for them and loads of pictures you can print off for them to colour in - lot cheaper than buying colouring books.

Give them a ball and bottle of juice and send them out to play footer with their pals all day.

A good family trip is Legoland down in Windsor, can get some decent deals on hotels and tickets.

I do send my kids out with a ball or on their bikes the original point of this was something to do with all the rain!
