WTF - Nine months suspended. He should have been charged with attempted murder. If he was so keen to die why didn't he find a quiet empty country road and point the car at a fcukin' big tree? Sickening to think how he didn't give a shit about killing totally innocent people. 10/12 years inside to reflect on his actions sounds about right

Yep, in my opinion it's attempted murder, it was a pre-meditated action and he knew that an attempt to kill himself could obviously potentially kill someone else. The sentence, regardless of his "mental status" at the time, is farcical.

However I'm not remotely surprised by it.

The justice system in this country is at times ridiculous. FFS
