Listening to the likes of Keays and Thompson going on with themselves and how fourth place "isn't good enough for a club like Liverpool"-It's just simply the fear of change.
I guess they must have felt the same in Rome as the Holy empire collapsed before their eyes,or the Raj when the British empire started to crumble-"it can't happen old chap,we'll go on forever"....every great dominating entity in history has eventually fallen in response to cyclical global events-it's just how life is-and always has been.
Football is no different.

And every football club,as every country in the world,by definition,has history.
If you care not to know of it or understand it,that I'm afraid it just shows your ignorance.

So far as "prestige" is concerned-I suggest you read a little of the dipper history-especially the period you were floundering in the lower reaches of the second division,before the great man Shankly came and transformed the club.

So as Liverpool's inexorable fall continues apace-take solace that you've been a part of history....and give credit where it's due, and accept that of which you cannot change-as we've had to do with you for the past thirty years.
