Re: Sunday Supplement
An element of truth in this although I wouldn't say that the media are fully behind us but playing well does attract more positive comment - we had a similar patch at the start of the title winning season when the media were more positive which lead to AVB (at Chelsea) moaning about the team in 'the other blue' getting all the positive coverage.
There is also the matter of timing whereas previously we were trying to establish ourselves as a top side we are now firmly established as a top side and with Taggart gone and Moyes making a hash of things we are now indisputably the top side in the PL so inevitably the media will start affording us due respect. Being top dog has its upside.
The issue of style is also important as on the whole the media here like teams that 'just go for it' ala Redknapp when at Spurs whereas the more cerebral or tactical approach at the top clubs is less appreciated ie Benitez or even Mourinho where his character was more admired than the football. We had an example today where you can compare the tactical Spurs of AVB to the more Harry like approach of Sherwood with two up top and go for it attitude ending in a 3-2 ding dong. We are not that different with Pellers opting for two up top as a default option and aiming to outscore the opposition which in most cases we end up doing. Its exciting stuff and from a neutrals point of view very enjoyable to watch because anything can happen and so far this season it pretty much has.

I don't subscribe to the view that the media hated us for 2-3 years under Mancini, just that they wanted our squad of players to play the type of football we are playing now.
To the neutral, we were in the whole under performing and not getting the best out of our excellent players.
Now we are, and the media are fully behind us and are championing us
