Sunday wouldn't be possible...

Great shout for the statue ..... Paul Dickov sliding on his knees.

That would look tremendous and also a real sign of the type of club we are.

So true. So many people had left the ground before that goal - heard the cheers whilst they were queuing for the underground and ran back in through the open gates. I'd stayed in my seat and watched the extra time and penalties with a totally new lot of Blues.
It sticks in my mind more than any other City experience. Hoping tomorrow will surpass it

No one ever seems to admit to it but I was one of the great unbelievers who left the ground when the 2nd Gillingham goal went in. But by the time I had got back to the coach the driver told me Horlock had got one back and the ref had just put on 5 minutes injury time. Cue me running back towards Wembley like a madman up until coming across a w*nker of a cockney steward who tried stopping me from going back inside. Suffice to say he ended up on the floor, (via a push and not a punch) and I ran through the decrepit shed we called Wembley then towards the stairs that led to the pitch. As I ran up the stairs I could tell we must be attacking by the noise the City fans were making, and as I reached the top of them I saw the ball hit the back of the net. The rest, as you say is history. My greatest regret though is that I did not believe enough to be there right the way through, and I could never be one of the fire drill brigade who thinks it is okay to leave 5 or 10 minutes early. I am also outting Noel Gallagher as one of us as well because as I was making my teary eyed way back to the coach I saw him kicking a can in disgust outside but was too gutted to be bothered who it was at the time. Faint hearted tw*t he is.

Watching Blue Moon Rising, the bit that got me teary was the 'jinx' bit about the playoff final in 99. Brilliant.

Strangely I felt like crying watching that. I am feeling very emotional about its at the minute. This title race is messing with my head.

Don't worry mate I filled up at that too.

The other game that still gets me going is The Goat's equalizer vs Blackburn in 2000 when we went up. What a day that was and the sheer relief when that goal went in after we'd been battered was amazing. I knew we'd go up as soon as that went in and it felt like a massive weight off my shoulders.

...if it hadn't been for this.
I know you could say it about any important goal, but another year in England's third tier could have been disastrous.

We've come so far. 90 minutes between us and glory.
Roll on Sunday!

Another great day. We were underdogs all season but we went up with great teamwork and belief. It was a fantastic couple of years. I actually prefer that season to the Keegan promotion.
