Hello everyone, as you have guessed by my username i am a sunderland fan and travelling down on sunday to watch the match. I wondered could you give me names of pubs in the surrounding area of the ground which would make around 25 away supporters welcome for a few hours before the game.

your best bet is in town mate,its only a 5er in the cab or a 20 min walk,around piccidilly there are several!!

I'd probably say town aswell, wether it be Wetherspoons or somewhere similar. Sunday afternoons can be fairly quiet in the town centre so I don't see why you wouldn't enjoy a few pints :)

as stated above, cant see any of the pubs near the ground accepting a coach party but Mcr town centre is only a fiver in a cab or you can even walk it to the ground in around 15-20 mins. Your not playing the Rags after all ! Our grounds in Mcr.

Manchester city centre is your best option bud. Its 5 minutes fromt he ground and your spoilt for choice. No away friendly pubs near the ground, not for 25 lads anyway ;)

I think it's a police directive re home fans only in the pubs around the ground rather than us not being a welcoming bunch!! Just a bit further away for example The Victoria or The Grove down Ashton New Road you'd be ok.

go town if you are going for a drink for a few hours like others have said its not that far from the ground and loads of pubs oh and if someone comes upto you in a united top dont worry they just want directions as they get lost when they come to manchester
