People actually do admit when a player proves them wrong and goes on to be something special. They are quite happy to admit it. It's less likely though that those who beat the drum for a player to admit they were wrong when the player they defend to the hilt gets moved on. Bony is a fine example of that. Instead of admitting he was a big fat tub of shite and we got taken to the cleaners to the tune of 27m people use the excuse that he didn't fit our system. No he was just fucking crap and had too many opportunities to prove otherwise.
