As Sunderland's car park is quite small according to their website, please can anyone advise on places to park or is getting the park and ride that I think is mentioned the best bet?

Im driving down on Sunday. Gunna try and get there early though and hope for the best! im sure theres somewhere near by I can park if the car park gets full!!
Spoke to a mate who went last year and he said the park and ride is crap and is always rammed, so im not going to bother with that!

Do not get the park and ride under any circumstances. You are still 8 miles away from Sunderland, in fact you are closer to Durham.
Follow signs for Sunderland city centre, there is masses of street parking in the Fulwell/Roker area.
