This is the first game in a year nearly that i watched right through, asked a couple of questions, cheered the goals and really nice to finally see the players beaming and feel happy for them

Nice to hear from you again and more importantly you watched the full game.
Keep going me old flower.

Arguably our best performance of the season thus far given the opposition, which have made things very difficult for other “big” teams since being promoted. Reckon they are a better team overall than all but us, Arse, and Villa at the moment. They deserve a lot of credit for where they are, even after their loss today.

I think most of our lads played well, but special mention to O’Reilly, Doku, Phil, Donnarumma, and, of course, my MOTM, Cherki.

I shared this in the match thread: When we were rumoured to be in for Reijnders and Cherki, almost all of my mates were very excited about the Dutchman, but I said that I thought Cherki was the real potential star people pay to see.

Nothing against Reijnders, who I think will come good for us, but Cherki has the potential to be our new Kev. Not a direct replacement by any means, but the sort of player that can breakdown stubborn defences we most often face and chip in with opposition morale-destroying assists and goals that swing momentum in matches.

Really looking forward to how Pep molds him over the coming years!
Agreed. I said at the time the two best signings were Cherki and Khusanov. We haven't seen anything of either yet, wait until they get going proper.

Really enjoyed that. Never felt in doubt.
Cherki a real talent. Could become a superstar here, time will tell. Haaland was quiet but Foden terrific again. Pleased for his goal ensuring the wonderful skill by Cherki will get its plaudits.
Still feels like we can improve which will scare the pants off Arse who have started to drop points.

Might have been but we had a hatful of chances. They had 2 the whole game. Given they are top 6 you have to put that down as a very solid performance. Arsenal are prob starting to shit bricks
Exactly. Why do we have that core of fans that think we're never going to concede chances?

Great win on a day Arsenal lose and the gap is now 2 points.
What a very big week with very big results. City dug deep and got the 3 wins and that's what matters most

Look, ugly or leggy you need to get the points first and foremost and performance goes out of the window
City faced the wall and knocked it down. That's the sign of a good team, digging deep for the shirt and fans

The sort of match where finally everyone connected to the club can see the full arrival of Rayan Cherki - how many times in recent seasons have teams defended deep and we are left to moan about how we cannot break them down and get vital goals despite having 70% possession.
Um, not that many that I can remember, but the way we play it's always going to happen and whoever you are it's going to be difficult to get past 10 men whenever they're parked in the penalty box for most of the match.

Great performance overall against a team that really could have caused us problems as they have with others this season.

A few shaky moments and a couple of players that didn’t have their best game but to score 3 and more importantly keep a clean sheet was fantastic.

Keep the pressure on the tarquins and they’ll shit the bed at some point.

Cool story bro , what about your cat and chocolate?

Really solid game. Some outrageous skill. Commitment and camaraderie on show.
Remember that Sunderland had not lost to anyone in the top seven.
The commentator saying that we hadn't had a good start 27 seconds into the game was an utter dick - no idea who it was - but his desire for Sunderland's ascendency was slain by the two goals.

Nunes cocked up last week and Leeds were back in the game
Dias cocked-up up today but Donnarumma made a great block

Fine margins, but overall we played well and looked reasonably comfortable.
Reasonably comfortable? I don't remember the keeper having another save to make. We dealt with pretty much everything without any real issue. I'd like to see us closing down more before they get into the penalty area but you're never going to get teams not attacking when they get the chance.

We are growing.A great result that.
Donnarummas reaction after they hit the post spoke a lot about this group.
Get our midfielders back and we are in business because there is nowt wrong with this lots commitment and desire.
