Expecting a very difficult afternoon against a well coached, hard working physical and athletic side. They went to Anfield and were a goal line clearance away from a late winner.

Still feels like we are a couple of players short. Principally a midfielder to play with Nico or Rodri. Reijnders gets forward like Gundogan at his best but doesn’t do as much out of possession and certainly can’t control tempo like Gundogan. A right back would be great considering Nunes’ recent errors.

At the same time we’re looking decent going forward but really have to cut out our poor spells second half.

Any sort of win will do tomorrow.

Wait, has there been reporting that the club has not offered Rodri a new contract?
I must have missed that if there has been an update.

I thought the most recent news on that front is that the club wants to extend him to 2029 and want it done by the end of this year.

We will see what happens.
Let's just get him back and healthy for the holiday fixtures.

Also, transfermarket has his value at 90M, so anything less then that would be robbery for the best 6 in world football.
I don't know about the contract situation but sadly, it is not in the Clubs interest to offer a contract on the terms a "fit" Rodri is worth.

We all hope he gets back and then signs a new deal.

Offering contracts must be 1 of the hardest aspects of modern footy with the money involved.
Dippers look like they have dropped a pair of bollocks with their recent 2 big extensions.

agree with all that. Just shows that even with the best run clubs emotion is a factor.

Highly recommend Pep's embargoed press conference. It's a long time since I have seen him so animated and ready to discuss City. He spent quite some time discussing Rodri and went into some detail about his last injury.

Is Rodri anywhere near fit yet?!

This is going to be complicated

Move Cherki to O'Reilly's position

Move O'Reilly to Gonzalez position

Move Gonzales to Stones position

Move Stones to Khusanov's Position

Replace Khusanov with Nunes

Move Nunes to Cherki original position

Play 3 at the back with Nunes as a RWB

That's the magic team.

That said, i currently don't rate Nico O's ability to play in a congested middle. I think he is not as comfortable as mist presume he'll be
can you write it out?

There is a great question second up about Rodri "are you waiting until he is fit to start a game?"

Switched off after that. The questions are pathetic and JG isn't interested in the shite.

You may have meant it as a throwaway comment but "Reijnders gets forward like Gundogan at his best" is almost sacrilegious if taken seriously

He's not fit to clean his boots
