Muntari (calf) and Richardson (hamstring) were both substituted inside the first 25 minutes, while Ferdinand and Bardsley were left to struggle on and complete the match.

Bruce said: “Phil will have a scan today on his knee, Ferdinand just suffered a kick so he should be OK. Muntari had a calf problem and Richardson a hamstring.”

Note Mensah suspended and Onouha will be ineligible

On the other hand, Sunderland will be looking to bounce back from what was a truly awful home performance against Liverpool.

Welbeck and Gyan are the danger men.

Edit: Mensah red card overturned. Bonkers. Was a straightforward red card. Don't know why they have changed their mind

Because they got the penalty decision wrong they had to let mensah off as a favor, the fa are like that for anyone who's been involved with utd (bruce.

Most probably-

Mignolet

Ferdinand Mensah Bramble Bardsley

Henderson Cattermole Muntari Sessegnon

Gyan Welbeck.

For anyone who's interested!!

Thought Bardsley was an injury doubt.

2 utd players in there plus Bruce (and Rico as well?)

Alright lads

I think we'll be in for a good game today. As you know, Ned is inelgible which is a shame as the lads a quality player. Mensah's red card was rescinded so he should line up alongside Bramble with Michael Turner on the bench after a long injury lay off. Would much prefer Turner to Bramble but don't think he's quite ready. Bardsley should have shaken off a knock so I think he'll revert to right back and ahead of Ferdinand if Richardson is fit to play at left back. I'd rather have Elmohammady at Right back and Bardo at left back but injuries seem to have dictated the defence.

I think we'll line up like this;

...................................................... Mingolet

Bardsley .................. Bramble ....................................... Mensah ............. Richardson

............................... Muntari ....................................... Cattermole

Sessegnon ................ ...................... Henderson ...................................... Welbeck

........................................................ Gyan

Gordon or Wilson
Ferdinand
Turner
Elmohammady
Zenden
Malbranque
Noble
Campbell

Would much rather have Henderson on the right as the lad can't tackle to save to his life and Sess on the left cutting inside. Welbeck isn't as effective on the left as he is playing alongside or just behind Gyan so hopefully he'll push forward just behind Gyan as the link up man when going forward and dropping deep when we don't have possession which could be quite a lot today.

Anyway, may the best team on the day win. Hopefully we pick up a good result to halt this horrible run of form and get back above the Dirty Mags.

All the best.

Many thanks for your views on Sunderland

I don't rate your manager to be honest. I think he is a typical lower league English manager who has a few mantras which sum up his footballing philosophy: Workrate, Tempo, Get it forward quickly. But he has assembled a few good players eg Gyan, Welbeck and Mensah. They are class players, and would get into any team in the country.

Not sure about Henderson. He has been hyped to death like every promising young English player.

Every team that comes to City seems to raise their game and it brings the best out of them (except Villa) but most fans probably think like that.

City should have enough to win, but I am wary of the international break. Wont have helped our preparation and a lot of teams like Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Utd in the 1st half played poorly yesterday.

I don't know why Sunderland is struggling :? They have some powerful players.
