Sunderland v City post match

I read somewhere yesterday that Peps long chat to Silva after the game was discussing that point. He wanted us to go for more goals whereas we seemed happy enough to keep possession in our own half. Not sure how much truth is in that.

Usually when we pass the ball around like that the opposition tire, lose concentration and we score a couple of late goals. Sunderland deserve some credit for keeping going until the end, even having a short period of pressure leading up to the offside "goal". If Pep really wanted us to go flat out, wouldnt he have brought on Kelechi rather than Delph?

I don't see why it's seen as a show of humbleness, sometimes the opposition don't set up the way you expect them too, or have different personnel, and then changing tactics is not swallowing your pride and saying you made a mistake, it's just adapting to the opposition's own changes.

That's exactly how it is. Lots of football fans (and pundits) see things in this black and white way. Managers are always "wrong" or "right" whereas the truth is, you can't predict how things will pan out because you don't know how the opposition will set up or who will have a bad game. Making the change is a judgement call. There are plenty of games where it takes a while to find your feet, so an early change can be a bad idea.

Sorry if its been covered but could someone tell my why Silvas goal was ruled out, seems like it was given for offside but was clearly on, it does not seem to have been discussed on tv no suprise there then.

Thought it was all a bit meh: Two goals but it really should have been more, clean sheet and three points. But on 82 minutes I realised just how well we must have played to have kept Adnan Jizz-jazz quiet. Was he not the greatest thing since sliced bread just a couple of years ago? And we kept him quiet didn't we. And we also got the better of David Moyes, and he was "chosen" by the pisscan so he must really be the "football genius" we were singing about.
And I didn't see a single half 'n' half scarf which has to be another reason for wanting Sunderland to stay up.
In fairness he produced one moment of sublime brilliance in the first half not much else though.

Ozil - did nothing for his first year and fading again. Hazard - missing all of last season. Silva - perfection for nearly 7 years - head and shoulders the best player in the Prem.
Fully agree if they gave out players of the decade he would surely win hands down. But then again maybe not.

Did anyone notice the 40-50 pass Willie made from a little pressure....don't recall who it was too but it was straight to the player That's what we need from a keeper, mix it up a little because it doesn't always need to be a short pass out. Although think Bravo did the same but it's a bit different when you're playing a Championshop team. Also, not sure if Silva does this and I've just missed it but he came very deep today and was often Willies outlet through the middle.
Bravo would still be number one if he was able to keep out a higher proportion of shots on his goal than he managed to do.
