Super League Aftermath.

It isn't about whether WE give a fuck about those teams, we are not playing them (yet). When we do I'll be very interested in those team, thanks.

Right now I'm not interested in Everton v Watford this weekend, but I will be very interested in these teams in the run up to our game against them.

The important thing to remember is that THEY (Villareal and Wolfsburg, etc) care about their team, and they don't care about ours up until the point they play us.

Football is all about competition. Remove that and it ends up as wwe smackdown type pretend shite.

So, in a nutshell, you are wrong.
LOL I really doubt that youve never watched any games besides ours. I'd put money on the fact that just this year youve watched other games besides ours because you like football, simple as that. But you can act like you haven't so it fits your narrative.

you've lost me. not sure what point you are trying to make there.

anyway, to clarify, i believe that any new sweetener proposals by the entitlement clubs will be in their interests, not the interests of the smaller clubs, the league pyramids or the sport in general. if you believe otherwise, please direct me to the evidence contrary to what i have seen happen repeatedly over the last 30 years.

competition entry should be always based on sporting merit. if a team (like brentford) gets top 4 this season, are you saying that because their tv audience pull is not that large internationally, that Man Utd should take their place in the super league as they bring in more viewers, ergo more income for the very very rich people running the game?

is that the backbone to your opinion?

To be honest the whole Super League idea could actually be turned into something interesting, Champions League seems to be dropping in quality lately.
You have groups like:
Sevilla, Lille, Salzburg , Wolfsburg
united, Atalanta , Villareal , Young Boys

These groups you'd expect to see in Europa League not Champions League.

Then again Liverpool , Milan , Porto and Atletico have to battle it for 2 spots.

Makes no sense, so what if Lille won the French League last season ? They can't afford to stay at the top level and invest money in the team, they can't go near the top teams in Europe and challenge them. So what if Villareal won the Europa League last season ? They're no competition for the big European teams out there ..
and never will if you deny them the right that they've gained on merit

The backbone of my opinion is that ,
apparently , you care about the small clubs but you won't watch them play. Not trying to insult you here but that sounds like hypocrisy ?
If you care about them you should watch them play to help them out. If you don't really care about them then stop trying to defend them.

Maybe other fans in Europe are watching them?

You can show your dislike by watching every game in the villareal, wolfsburg, lille , salzburg group . You obviously wont do it because you dont give a fek about thoes teams , really , but want to have an opinion about this

Calm down, calm down.

Nihilists think life is meaningless anyway.

A club going through a great moment when the stars align and they have a sensational season (example Lille last season) doesnt mean they will follow up on that success.
Lille for example lost their coach and some of their players after winning the french league last season. They sold for 51 mil and bought for 13 mil after winning the title. Why would I want to see a team like that play in the best european competition ?
I dont mind seeing teams with a good management plan (Dortmund for example) who aren't the biggest clubs in the world but at least they invest some of the money they get from the transfers on other talented prospects. Dortmund will always be an interesting presence in the CL. Lille or Wolfsburg not so much.

Maybe other fans in Europe are watching them?
Thats quite alright , they can watch them in the Europa League. My point was that there's no need for a group like : lille, villareal , wolfsburg and salzburg in the champions league if we're going to call CL the greatest competition out there
