Some of the images that are appearing are shocking. The 10 metre storm surge looks like it was true. As I predicted, the death toll from this will be in the 10,000's

The initial impact alone is 10,000 in one City Tacloban, where the population is 80,000 in this town. One in 8 people dead.

Add starvation and lack off fresh water and then spread of disease then we will be looking at a very major humanitarian crisis.

This part of the country including Bohol and Cebu are still recovering from7.2 measured earthquake last week.

Sad and if you can donate anything it will be greatly appreciated

Iv been off work for the last week, went back in today,i work with several pinos, one of them comes from Tacloban, just this morning he got a sms from one of his family members, all his family are ok thank god,but utter total devastation in his city,he's lost his house,he couldn't get in touch via any method ,facebook, email ,mobiles up until this morning, god knows what he is going through, his wifes family are all from Tacloban too.

His family said there is nothing to eat and drink, money is useless cos theres nothing to buy,its absolutely awful.Hope so much the situation improves for them.

Watching the news and its heartbreaking. £13 m raised in 24 hours, let's hope it gets used fast.

Fixed that for you.

And that...

The only consolation is that it isn't a warzone. We all know what happens to the red cross when militants get their hands on them.
