It’s very American, when I moved here we were invited to a big party as the home owners had just had a huge fancy extension built. Everyone spent the whole night gushing over them, complimenting them on the amazing wonderful job they did and that they must be so proud. When in reality they didn’t lift a finger but paid a bunch of Puerto Ricans to work extremely hard for low wages for 6months.
