Somewhere talking sensible nonsense ; )
For years I've usually gone for the cheapest fuel and is mostly that sold by the big supermarkets. I've heard that some supermarkets, Sainsburys in particular are known to water their fuel down. I don't know If this is true but I've seen plenty of exhausts blasting water out of the back box on setting off.

I do about 40k miles a year in my company diesel Ford transit custom and I am filling up more nowadays with more expensive branded fuels. I have noticed the engine is running quieter and I seem to be getting slightly more miles from a full tank. The difference of filling a full tank on supermarket/branded fuel Is about 6-8 quid.

What are you filling up with and why?

I put Asda fuel in because I go shopping there and I am truly lazy as fuck. Fill up on the way out from shopping. I have noticed that fuel from a proper filling station on my way to town or work gets better mileage. But that shows just how stupid and lazy and predictable I am. What a prick.

Is this a parody, nobody waters down petrol surely. Not a good mix

No they dont but its an urban myth that has got out of hand.

I have to use super unleaded and use Tesco Momentum 99 and have had zero issues.

Never noticed a difference in either performance or economy. It's a complete load of bollocks as far as I'm concerned.

Costco just opened a petrol station for members only, at the Trafford Centre. £1.14 per litre at the moment.
