Cannot wait till the millstone follows suit and puts 50p on a pint of stelloh, bow or john smurfs on karaoke nights ;-)

Already been happening 30 years plus. Some pubs have 3 or 4 till settings for weekdays, evenings, weekend, and "night club" prices for the same location and drinks.
only ones I know who do it are ones near theatres or sports grounds on an event day/night

It tends to be smaller pub groups, the owner owns 5-8 pubs with self-employed pub managers, setting the prices, and they don't advertise price rises just the weekday offer prices. They are much cheaper during the week, and price them out at the weekends to attract younger clientele when the DJ is on.

It's worth it for the entertainment factor in there!

Also isn't it always Karaoke time in there? Every time I ever have been in or walked past, there has always been Karaoke on I think. (not been in there for about 10 years but walk past still and there is always someone murdering a song).

Always made me laugh in Stockport town centre there was a few boards outside pubs offering cheaper beer before 5pm, must have been competing for that giro custom.
