Just completed it Julie, I think from the data you get back a qualitative study would be the best method to undertake. So I hope you get useful opinions and perceptions. It sounds like a really interesting subject for a dissertation and I wish I had been creative enough to consider such an interesting subject.
I alluded to it in my comments but effect of leaving Maine Road must have been quite profound with the closing downs of pubs etc and the loss to local business. I dont think Eastlands is part of the fabric of the community as Maine Roa., Similar to the new stadiums in Germany, which is built in park area far away from the community. Its a different strain to your study but you really feel a difference in Bremen, where the ground is centrally located in comparison to the new grounds such as Schalke, Hamburg, Frankfurt etc.

Anyone considered this could be a trojan horse to root out "tourists"?

Very much Doubt it. The thread was started by Di Niro who i'm sure would be wise to such pathetic attempts. Besides, what could the rags learn that they don't already know?
This is an internet forum and i would be very suprised if a good chunk of users don't live in areas other than Manchester.
