Have you been tasked with dragging Old Trafford into the modern era?

Can do it from here...
What is the roof composition?..flat/pitched/ tile finish on trusses? / single ply membrane finish?
How old is the building....roof the same age or has it been replaced?
Have you relocated any services in the roof space recently?
Ant new building...extension / PV panels etc in the vicinity?

First step get some food dye and a bucket of water and throw it over where you perceive to be the leaky area.

It's an old place. The pub where my missus runs. Water pisses in from various parts of the roof. It had stopped her from putting customers in one location when it was open. Coming down lightswitches now. She rents the pub ,structural part is down to the landlord and during lockdown he even said he would send workers round to sort it. She hasnt opened since because of the water ingress.

ok....assuming an old style tile on felt on battens on trusses roof....then yer felt membrane is perished...will need a tile strip ( store and replace) or new tile on a new mambrane. Big job. which in most tennancy spheres would count as structural. Get a quote from a roofer asap......you probably shouldn't open if water is tracking down through the mains electrics!..this may focus your landlord!

Good luck. ( im an Architect by the way....)

Hi Ted the roof is slate no felt. It's a very old pub listed in parts and the landlord knows about problems but is a twat and has never wanted her to change anything or succeed. It's a problem which has started to affect health. She wants a report to list problems and it's going to get messy as they say.

Needs a new roof if the membrane has gone, a good firm can smash it off in a couple of days. Surely the landlord has to sort this out, threaten to report him to the local council ect if he won't budge

just slate tile?...surprised its lasted...repair trumps listing so that shouldn't be an issue. Its probably leaked for years....but if you want out call the H&S exec round...water in the electrics will shut it down.....or hope for a dry summer!
