Turns out she took her name from a four cheese pizza she had in Naples when she was a little girl.
It stuck to the roof of her mouth and that's how she got her unique vocal style.

Sounds plausible. I feel bad now, I didnt research it thorougly enough.
Is there any reference to a popular but now sadly defunct canned fizzy drink available in the 80's ?
I suspect there might be, if you dig deep enough.
