Hi all got a friend who is a leicester fan and wanted to make this topic on here knowing this is proberly our best fan site wanted to ask all of you what you thought of sven as city manager and england? he has told me on one of their fans website fans of all clubs including ours go on there, slate sven, and tell them how shit of a city and club manager he was. now all of us know that they are either rags pretending to be blues or started supporting the club in 2010. either way i want you to all post your honest view on him while he was with us so i can show him that we all aren't ungrateful for the job he did in his short time with us and after all he did do the double over the rags! ;)

-----------------------------------

I initially thought he meant loads of ours went on there giving sven shit but had to edit it because he didn't mean that, just meant fans from all over the place go on there and give him shit and just wanted to hear your views on him.

Cheers Jack :)

Lost in translation, I meant other fans (not city fans) came on saying how he did nothing.

Anyway, look forward to hearing all your opinions

Cheers
Joe

Tell your mate that Sven was an excellent manager, who took 7 or 8 new players and got them playing some great football from the off. The players loved him and we did too. The problem was that, as with England, there was no Plan B if games weren't going to plan and the training regime was possibly a bit lax.

Things fell to pieces around Xmas as his relationship with the owner broke dwon completely and the players knew this. I think if that hadn't happened and he'd remained our manager then we could have won the league last season.

i'm with you completly. not sure about winning the league but he did a very good job with what was still an average team if he had of had the sheiks millions to spend i just wonder where he would have taken us. not to say i'm not happy with where we are now just felt that it was a very pre-mature ending for sven here at city.

He got lucky first half of season, had no plan b when teams sussed us and had us in relegation form well before the players knew he was a lame duck. Overrated, vastly, by many on here.

I was frankly astonished at the way that Sven joined the club in close season, assembled a string of largely unknown players in a very short period of time and turned them into a cohesive unit for the start of the season.

The team couldnt sustain that early season form but it was impressive nonetheless.

Despite the criticisms he's received in the past, many of which were at least partly justified, he know's his stuff.

I agree about Plan B but I think you underestimate the amount of upheaval there was going on behind the scenes in the second half of the season.

he was brilliant, incorporated some modest purchases ( by today's standards) with our best youth players and got them to deliver really quality football
did the double over utd, and had us 4th at christmas. 2nd half of the season was a thing to forget, but with the limited and rapidly depleting squad I think he did really well

agree again with this. i think lloydie you are a bit of an idiot if you think he got lucky for 6 months and got city into the top 4 by xmas and were we not top at one point? never had a plan b but with more players that would have came about we would have done. we had a really really small squad that season particularly in defence. remember our best attacking player playing right back? he was given stuart pearces team and after the team finished right next to the relegation places the season before i think he did quite well.
